PRESS RELEASE
United IPS to provide
two new services: a Marine Recovery Unit and a set
of Internet Safety ShieldsTM for Children.
Cape Coral, FL. – June
2, 2008 – United IPS is pleased to announce the
immediate availability of two new services. The new
Marine Recovery Unit will provide recovery and
accident investigation services for waterway
incidents. The new Internet Safety Shields for
Children are intended to supplement protection efforts
for children using the Internet and WWW related
activities. Both sets of services are available
immediately and detail information can be found on
our web site:
www.UnitedIPS.com.
The
Marine Recovery Unit will be headed up by Luis
Jimeńez,
a principle and one of the founding officers of
United IPS. Mr.
Jimeńez
maintains a Master Diver rating along with a Rescue
Diver rating and will focus the unit to provide
search and recovery of lost items, accident
investigation, and submerged evidence gathering.
The
Internet Safetey Shields for Children consists of
two managed care services.
eBlaster 2008 is a fully
professionally installed and professionally managed
service while
Spector Pro 2008 is a professionally
installed and parentally managed service. Both
services are comprised of software from a well
established, and technical savy software company (Spector
Soft) and are designed to supplement protection
efforts for children using the Internet and WWW
related activities.
The FBI
has issued numerous cautions on the potential
problems of children accessing and using Internet
related services. Some of the more important facts
published by FBI and the department of Justice
include:
1.
With an estimated 24 million children online, one
out of five have been solicited for sex in the last
year.
2.
An estimated 725,000 children have been
"aggressively" asked for sex, defined as an offer to
meet in person.
3. One in four children were sent pictures of
people who were naked or having sex.
4. Since 1996, the FBI estimates a 2000%
increase in child pornography images on the
internet.
5. According to the FBI: Chat rooms offer the
advantage of immediate communication around the
world and provide the pedophile with an anonymous
means of identifying and recruiting children into
sexually illicit relationships.
6. There are currently three child predators
listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list
The FBI recommends that you
should monitor your child's access to all types of
live electronic communications (i.e., chat rooms,
instant messages, Internet Relay Chat, etc.), and
monitor your child's e-mail. Computer-sex offenders
almost always meet potential victims via chat rooms.
After meeting a child on-line, they will continue to
communicate electronically often via e-mail.
The differences between the
two Internet Safety Shields lies with the
professionally managed aspect:
eBlaster 2008 is
managed by United IPS while
Spector Pro
2008, although
professionally installed, is managed by the parents.
eBlaster 2008 is targeted for families who may not
have the time, or technical expertise to manage the
reports generated by the professionally installed
software. In that case, United IPS will managed the
computer remotely and inform and alert the parents
when alerts are generated.
Spector Pro 2008 is
targeted at those parents who do have the time,
energy, and expertise to manage the technical
reports which are generated from the professionally
installed software.
Pricing for the new services
is:
Marine Recovery Unit - quoted
per project
eBlaster 2008 - $249.95 for
installation and $10./month for maintenance fees
Spector Pro 2008 - $249.95 for
installation
Annual software updates will
be available and priced shortly.
